Curriculum Vitae

Konstantinos C. Giotopoulos was born in Patras, Greece, in 1976.

He received the Dipl. Eng. degree in Computer Engineering and Informatics (1999), the M.SC. in Computer Science and Engineering (2002) and the Ph.D. (2007) from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras, Greece. The M.SC. and the Ph.D. were realised at the Pattern Recognition Laboratory of the Department of Computer Engineering and informatics of the University of Patras, Greece.

For several years Dr. Giotopoulos worked as Computer Engineer and Informatics in IT Research and Development Projects, co-financed by the European Commission (IST Projects).

Since 2004 is working as Project Manager also in Regional Development Projects, co-financed by the European Commission, on behalf of several organisations such as the Development Enterprise of Western Greece Region, the Prefecture of Achaia and the Region of Western Greece.

The period from August 2011 till July 2013, Dr. Giotopoulos was thew General Director of the Development Enterprise of Western Greece Region and he coordinated all the EC Funded Projects of the Enterprise.

 Dr. Giotopoulos is also teaching as scientific collaborator in the Department of Business Planning and Information Systems and in the Department of Business Administration of the Technological Educational institute of Patras. During the previous years Dr. Giotopoulos was also scientific teaching collaborator of the Department of Applied Informatics in Management and Economy, Technological Educational Institute of Messologhi.

His research is related with Semantic Web, Computational and Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Agents applications in the fields of e-learning, and information retrieval in the WWW.

He has also experience in development of software applications, both web-based(PHP, ASP) and standalone(JAVA, C#) including databases applications (MySQL, MS SQL Server), GIS (MapServer, Ka-Map, Google Maps) and service-oriented applications (.NET, JWSDP, PHP SOAP).

Furthermore, he has worked in management and implementation of National and European research and development projects.
